Done in 2000, and later revisited in 2015 - this mural is dedicated to the African American artist, Dox Thrash. Located just a block away from the old Pyramid Club where he played a major role. The original mural on 25th and Cecil B Moore 3 years prior was blacked out by the house owners after a foreclosure. This new creation shows Thrash's art along with his story as a man from the south who traveled the country as a Vaudeville, was a buffalo solider in WW1, moved to Philly, and worked in the shipyard. On the right of the mural, you can see the depiction of how he pioneered the carborundum printmaking. The quote below was even carbon transferred.
