Entering the village you will see the Transformer, painted with figures of local girls, Bulgarian singer Lili Ivanova and Tina Turner. They all welcome people comming to Staro Zhelezare. Next to it there is a long wall transformed into the Iconostasis of contemporary Artists like Le Corbusier, Joseph Beuys, Andy Warhol, J.M. Basquiat, Mark Rothko, L.M. van der Rohe, Tadeusz Kantor, Franz Kafka and Banksy. There is local girl Sabka, artists Magellan and Guma among them. Staro Zhelezare Street Art Village. Village of Personalities. Staro Zhelezare is the Street Art village in central Bulgaria. Walls, fances and buildings are covered with paintings - figures and portraits of local peopled companied by famous figures from the world of politics and culture.
The idea is created and the project is realised by Art Collective - Katarzyna and Ventsislav Piryankov and their art students from Poland. From 2015 they organize in summer the Mural Festival "Village of Personalities/Art for social change" . They spend whole july and august at Piriankov Art Center at Staro Zhelezare - their summer house for artists.
