Thomas Baumgärtel aka Bananensprayer was born 1960 in Rheinberg and studied fine arts and psychology at universities in Cologne. His trademark is an in stencil technique sprayed Banana that reminds of Andy Warhols Velvet Underground Banana. Since 1986 he has marked art places like galleries or museums with his logo. Ca. 4000 places from Cologne to New York, Basel, Berlin, London, Moskau, Wien were honored by his Banana, which has evolved a quality certification and inofficial logo in art scene.
