In 2018, Bremen-based artist Edeltraut Rath transformed the passageway at Rosenakstraße/Gröpelinger Heerstraße with her mural "Sunrise." This work draws inspiration from the striking brick arch that defines the passageway, incorporating its form as a continuous pattern that spans the side walls and ceiling. Rath's use of color echoes the warm red of the brick, creating a seamless connection between the architecture and the artwork. The mural's bold design, featuring a clear, repetitive form and a restrained color palette, gives the tunnel a strong and distinctive identity, making it a unique and memorable space.
