Koempelraaf 1/5

Tirelessly, this 'koempel' raven continues to shovel coal, even though there seems to be no end in sight.
'Koempel' is the name this region used for a mineworker. The word is originally German and means something like 'friend', 'mate' or 'comrade'.

On behalf of Heerlen Mijn Stad, city center organisation and marketing, Dazetwo has placed five ravens depicting different aspects of the Heerlen's mining history. We'll help you find the other four!

Koempelraaf
