Cattrina - 2021

Participación en el proyecto 15/15 de Festival Asalto. En la mayoría de culturas la palabra muerte y color son incompatibles. Sin embargo, en la cultura mexicana , se conmemora la muerte como un elemento más de la vida donde se honra a los seres queridos a través de ofrendas llenas de vida y color. Los orígenes de Rasshel, una mexicana afincada en Zaragoza, y las inspiradoras tradiciones mexicanas en torno a la muerte son el punto de origen de esta catrina, que pretende servir como unión entre México y España, entre vecina y artista, hablando de este tabú a través del arte, con una instalación efímera, caduca y como la vida, destinada a evaporarse con el paso del tiempo.

Participation in the project 15/15 of Festival Asalto. In most cultures the word death and colour are incompatible. However, in Mexican culture, death is commemorated as an element of life where loved ones are honoured through offerings full of life and colour. The origins of Rasshel, a Mexican living in Zaragoza, and the inspiring Mexican traditions surrounding death are the point of origin of this catrina, which aims to serve as a union between Mexico and Spain, between neighbour and artist, talking about this taboo through art, with an ephemeral installation, expiring and like life, destined to evaporate with the passing of time.
