Stanisław Lem

The most outstanding Polish science fiction writer and the most frequently translated Polish writer. Philosopher, futurologist, critic. In 1981 he was awarded the honorary doctorate of the Wrocław University of Technology. He was born in Lviv in 1921. He died in 2006 in Krakow.
