PIETÀ #07

Created on the remains of a destroyed house to commemorate the 115 innocent lives—mostly women and children—lost in the bombing of June 5, 1944, which missed its target and struck the town of Canepina.
Pietà does not aim to represent a specific event but to embody an idea. The way she gazes at her loved one is meant to inspire hope that the world can become a better place.
