Description

✨ “Izena badu, bada” — What has a name, exists.

So happy to paint this mural in Velluters, my neighborhood, celebrating 75 years of the Euskal Etxea in Valencia.
It’s inspired by Basque mythology: Mari, the creator goddess, with her daughters Eguzki (day) and Ilargi (night), the dragon Sugaar, and the lamias, spirits of the elements.
Mari offers the eguzkilore, the sun flower, as a symbol of protection — so that the night is not so dark. 🌞🌙

Painting in my own neighborhood has been truly special — sharing the process, meeting so many people, and feeling all the love.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by, and to those who recognized me from the “Principios” exhibition at the CCCC. It’s beautiful to see how street and museum work can support and reflect each other.

This mural continues my path of treating painting as a cultural practice, a living form of culture itself — and a tribute to Basque mythology and heritage, which the Euskal has kept alive in Valencia for 75 years. 💛
