Forgotten Muses

A memory of the house of Santa María Egipciaca and her women, in the Cabildo de Arriba, where those fleeing poverty, social exclusion were welcomed ... that Mar Pajarón considers his "Forgotten Muses"
More than 200 years ago, low-income women, prostitutes, criminals, single mothers and even those disowned by their husbands came to the collection house to carry out sewing and textile elaboration tasks with which they contributed to the sustenance of the institution.
In the upper part of the mural there is an open sky full of stars and constellations, symbolizing the future of these "Forgotten Muses". "The women sheltered under this hopeful Milky Way will appear surrounded by withered flowers as a metaphor of sadness for their not chosen lives and will remain clutched in the middle of their almost nakedness, reaching out to another partner about to sink into her existential drift"(Information from Santander Creativa) --------

Un recuerdo a la casa de Santa María Egipciaca y a sus mujeres, en el Cabildo de Arriba, donde eran acogidas aquellas que huían de la pobreza, la exclusión social... que Mar Pajarón las considera sus "Musas Olvidadas"
Hace más de 200 años, mujeres de escasos recursos, prostitutas, delincuentes, madres solteras e incluso repudiadas por sus maridos acudían a la casa de recogida para realizar labores de costura y elaboración de textiles con las que contribuían al sustento de la institución.

En la parte superior del mural se sitúa un cielo abierto plagado de estrellas y constelaciones simbolizando el futuro de estas "Musas Olvidadas". "Las mujeres cobijadas bajo esta esperanzadora Vía Láctea aparecerán rodeadas de flores marchitas como metáfora de la tristeza por sus vidas no elegidas y permanecerán agarradas en medio de su casi desnudez tendiendo la mano a otra compañera a punto de hundirse en su deriva existencial"
