Campanilleros de Angla

For the Nuevo Mural festival

The idea of the design was to represent the Campanilleros de Angla, a cultural group of men and women who for many years have dedicated themselves to dancing carrying heavy bronze bells on their backs. What they seek is to transmit, through dance and music, the tradition rescued from their ancestors from generation to generation. They especially reappear at Inti Raymi to thank Mother Earth for the harvests received.
The terrestrial owl (athene cunicularia) and the Imbabura volcano (taita Imbabura).

La idea del diseño fue representar a los Campanilleros de Angla, agrupación cultural de hombres y mujeres que por muchos años se han dedicado a danzar cargando pesadas campanas de bronce en sus espaldas. Lo que buscan es transmitir, a través de la danza y música, la tradición rescatada desde sus antepasados de generación en generación. Especialmente reaparecen en el Inti Raymi para agradecer a la Madre Tierra por las cosechas recibidas.
