Jelmer not only works as mural painter, sometimes as part of the duo Bier en Brood, but he also works as a video artist. That is also where he got the inspiration for this piece. As an artist he manipulates the static in old VHS video tapes, like he is playing an instrument. That explains the large quantities of black and white in his work. Somehow some blues and greens have found their way into this piece too.
