Created in July 2017, this abstract mural was made as part of the “Polish Urban Art” project accompanying an exhibition at Trafo Gallery. Its title, “Metropolis,” in combination with Nawer’s roots in graffuturism and architecture, can suggest a structured, layered modern city seen as an autonomous, ordered and self-sufficient organism, built from rhythmic, overlapping forms. At the same time, the artist avoids a single fixed interpretation, encouraging viewers to read the work in their own way.
