Description
In het Zuid-Afrikaanse Kaapstad vindt eveneens een street art-festival plaats waarmee The Crystal Ship een uitwisseling op poten heeft gezet. In 2023 nam Elléna Lourens de honneurs voor Zuid-Afrika waar – een jonge kunstenaar wiens opzienbarend, emotioneel werk breekt met de drukke, bonte street art-traditie. Lourens maakt erg poëtische murals met zo weinig mogelijk lijnen en kleuren, en ze is daarmee ontegensprekelijk een verademing in het street art-landschap.

South Africa’s Cape Town also hosts a street art festival, with which The Crystal Ship has established an exchange. In 2023, Elléna Lourens represented South Africa – a young artist whose startling, emotional work breaks with the fairly bustling, colourful street art tradition. Lourens creates extremely poetic murals with as few lines and colours as possible, making her an undeniable breath of fresh air in the street art landscape.
