JMZ Walls

Start at the Broadway/Myrtle JMZ Subway stop.

Look at the walls immediately at the corner of Broadway and Myrtle. There are currently walls by Michel Velt, Below Key and others (although these may change regularly). Then continue walking up Myrtle Street toward Bushwick Avenue. Stop at Little Mo Coffee Shop for work by Caro Pepe and L7Matrix. Then continue just past Bushwick Avenue to check out a couple gates by Kashink and Hugo Gyrl. Return to Bushwick Avenue and turn left.

Continue on Bushwick Avenue to Willoughby Avenue and turn right. Walk all the way down to Broadway. There will be a couple walls on your right hand side, including work by Menaceresa and Vince Ballentine. Then turn left at Broadway.

Continue walking along Broadway to Lawton Street, stopping to look at walls by various artists along the way, including a beauty by Shiro on the corner of Hart and Broadway. Then make a left on Lawton. This street was originally only for female artists, but there have been a few guys adding work recently. There is a new piece by Dragon76 for the RED Project, as well as work by Lexi Bella and other female artists all on the gates lining this street. At the end of the block, turn right on Bushwick Avenue to the next block, Dodworth.

Dodworth used to be an annual mural festival, but it has not been updated for a couple years. That being said, there are still some nice walls, such as the dancer by Zimernyc and others between Bushwick Avenue and Broadway. Once you hit Broadway, turn left and head to the next street, Dekalb.

Turn left on Dekalb and check out a few walls here. As you walk down this street, see if the gate of the school is open on your left side. There are several nice pieces wrapping around the school that most people don’t know about. Sorry if the gate is locked, but if it is open, be sure to go in. After that, continue on Dekalb to Bushwick Avenue and turn right to Kosciuszko. Walk down toward Broadway and see a couple pieces by Vince Ballentine and one by Mag Magrela. At the end of the block you can catch the train back to Manhattan or continue to explore the area.
