The 100Taur fresco presents Oedipus in the guise of a boar armed with spears. It sits on one of the creature's tentacled tails which it rests on a rock. From his frontal eye reminiscent of that of a cyclops, Oedipus projects a halo of light towards the beast which, with its frowning eyebrows and its raised index finger, seems to state the famous riddle.
