Kishner

Description

This photograph of Kishner (of Aloomba) comes from The National Archive of Australia in Brisbane. It was taken in 1909 for his application for exemption to the dictation test, a function of the White Australia Policy. The application would allow Kishner, aged 31, to travel to India and return to Australia without being barred entry due to his perceived race.
