The Whitby Street Lady was painted this month 10 years ago. In that time she has seen many changes to the area and has undergone some minor changes herself. First painted for the Trois Garcons restaurant in 2011 she became the face of the Lounge Lover cocktail bar on Whitby Street. Known to others as the Bubble Girl, her most recent alias is Roxanne for the @dirtyboneslondon restaurant.
In an area of constant transformation and renewal where street art flourishes, appearing one day and disappearing the next, she has watched on with her wistful gaze over the years, conversing silently with the people on the street, her colour fading gently over time yet hopefully still offering a sphere for the imagination.
