Child Flower

This mural was painted on the former Boy’s Club of Holyoke, Massachusetts. Gleo chose to celebrate the youthful energy of this building’s history with a profound “Child Flower.” Gleo, from Cali, Colombia, often paints themes of female energy, but in Holyoke, she leaned towards painting a young boy to honor the history of this unique and historic building. Her technique of color layering creates an illuminating effect through her paint, and the piece shines warmly. Peeking behind a park on Main Street, the Child Flower is coyly positioned between buildings, making this mural a true hidden gem of light and hope.
