size 15 x12 meters, by Nean Kingdom aka Fabien Hupin from Brussels #neankingdom was created as part of the unofficial GhmS Festival 2023 (Goch History meets Street Art) organized by Benjamin Taag in cooperation with the Heimatverein Goch e.V.
This was the site of the synagogue of the Jewish community until it was set on fire by the right-wing mob in November 1938 and completely destroyed.
That's why this work is special, and Nean has implemented it carefully, e.g. by choosing colors that are not reminiscent of the fire.
The principle of hope is in the foreground: "I want to create strong images in public space with my art. It's about hope, about light, and about the fact that even in bad times, there's always something good waiting in the end," says Nean.
This work should also remind future generations of the dark days in our history, we must not forget, otherwise buildings will soon burn again...
