Imagine: New Year's day 1945. Some German airplanes arrive to bomb this area, beacause at that time it's a small military field. The building that you are facing was part of it. A big aerial fight started, resulting in more than 20 planes crashing and many casualties. The holes you see in the wall are still from that actual fight, more than 70 years ago! That's what this artist from Syria wanted to commemorate. For many of us, war is a very abstract thing. For Samer Alagha it's very real, as he had to leave his country in war behind.
