Le Gardien de Calais towers above the canal, watching over the neighborhood and the people who pass beneath it. This cutie is the work of KAT and ACTION, a French duo whose partnership is built on complementarity. KAT brings an academic foundation, a master’s degree in Fine Arts, a diploma in Art Therapy, and a focus on animal illustration and portraiture. ACTION is self‑taught, shaped by hip‑hop culture and driven by the mathematical rigor of lettering, geometry, and movement. Together, they describe urban culture as an education and a way of life, one they now share with their young two‑year‑old “recruit” as they travel across Europe for festivals, residencies, and commissions.
