<div>The Girl in blue is part of Baladk festival 2020, this was their 8th season where diverse artist come together to show their skills.&nbsp;</div><div>The theme of this year was waste control, therefore, in my mural I focused on water preservation from pollution. As we know, water is 80 percent of our body and all our lives revolve around it.&nbsp;</div><div>In addition, since our country (Jordan) has low resources on water I focused my subject around the necessary awareness of preserving water and garbage control on wells. As a result of the combined ideas, the human body and the necessity of awareness, I painted clean water hovering around the girl</div>

<div>This artwork shows a Sufi Dervish performing a Sama. Sufi whirling (or Sufi turning)&nbsp; is a form of Sama or physically active meditation which originated among Sufis, and which is still practiced by the Sufi Dervishes of the Mevlevi order and other orders such as the Rifa'i-Marufi. It is a customary meditation practice performed within the Sema, or worship ceremony, through which dervishes aim to reach the source of all perfection, or kemal. This is sought through abandoning one's nafs, egos or personal desires, by listening to the music, focusing on God, and spinning one's body in repetitive circles, which has been seen as a symbolic imitation of planets in the Solar System orbiting the sun.<br><br><br></div>

<div>This is an artwork portraying the famous Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish. The words written in Arabic are from his poem "On this Land" , which was written about Palestine.<br><br>There’s on this land</div><div>what is worth living,</div><div>The recurring of April,</div><div>the smell of bread at dawn,</div><div>A woman’s amulet for men ,</div><div>Aeschylus’s writings,</div><div>the beginning of love,</div><div>Grass on a stone,</div><div>mothers standing on the thread of a flute,</div><div>and the invaders fear of memories.</div><div>There’s on this land what is worth living,</div><div>The end of September,</div><div>A lady leaving the forties</div><div>with all its apricot,</div><div>The hour of sunlight in prison,</div><div>Clouds imitating a flock of creatures,</div><div>A people’s cheers for those going up</div><div>to their doom, smiling</div><div>and the tyrants fear of songs.</div><div>There’s on this land what is worth living,</div><div>There’s on this land,</div><div>the lady of lands,</div><div>the mother of the beginnings</div><div>and of the ends.</div><div>It was called Palestine</div><div>Its name later became Palestine</div><div>My lady: I deserve,</div><div>since you’re my lady,</div><div>I deserve life</div>
