WOMEN IN SCIENCE | GIFTS OF SCIENCE

A tribute to Ana María Otilia Cegarra Salcedo (1899-1993). María Cegarra was a poet, teacher, and graduate in chemical sciences. She obtained her degree as a chemical technician at the Escuela Politécnica Superior de Alcoy, the city where we are now depicting her portrait in this mural. We recreated this perspective using various photographs of her.

Today, we bring her legacy to light, showcasing her work and giving visibility to her story through this mural portrait. We chose to represent her connection to chemistry through her attire and to allude to poetry throughout the composition, using earthy colors, papers, and depth within a university context.
