Australian Silo Art Trail

Sheryo

<div>The Albany Silos were the fourth silos to be completed in the Public Silo Trail of Western Australia and the 17th to be completed in the Australian Silo Art Trail.</div><div><br></div><div>The Albany silos were painted by two artists Yok and Sheryo and it depicts the Ruby Seadragon. The Ruby Seadragon is a little known and very rare sea creature that inhabits the coast of Western Australia. It’s quite famous really as it is only the third pieces of sea dragon ever recorded in the world and was only confirmed as a discovery in 2015.</div><div><br></div><div>These silos were completed in March 2018 and took 17 days to complete along with 180 litres of paint.</div><div><br></div>

Andrew Frazer

<div>Located on the left outside wall of The Hub in York Street.<br><br>Andrew Frazer is a full time illustrator, hand lettered, designer and artist. With a passion for storytelling. Andrew’s art often engages the audience on a very personal level through his thought provoking characters and story based art.&nbsp;<br>This mural is a nature based narrative work evoking journeys. Andrew has incorporated local plants into the mural and worked topography into the body of the character he has created in a reference to the area.<br>“The bandage on the character represents the hurdles we face, and how we carry them but move forward despite them” - Andrew Frazer</div>

Borondo

<div>Located on the building next to the Living Faith Community Church in York Street, Albany.<br>Borondo’s style is influenced by his exposure to the Christ and the Holy Mary sculptures which his father restored as a career in Segovia during the artist’s youth.&nbsp;<br>He studied fine art at academies in Madrid and under the tutelage of Jose Garcia Herranz before joining street art festivals across Europe.<br>For this mural, Borondo sketched up his lines with a spray can through netting taped to the wall so he could reproduce the outline across the length of the wall before completing the work with aerosol and rollers.<br>“Through my artworks and their different levels, I try to make people think about the hidden messages behind the poetic image. I look for the reflection and harmony and not for the reaction” - Borondo</div>

Karim Jabbari

<div>Tunisian Karim Jabbari is an abstract calligraphy and lightgraff artist whose work is inspired by old Arabic &nbsp;scriptures. Jabbari’s abstract form of calligraphy uses different patterns, shapes and colours featuring compositions of classic Kufi and Maghrebi calligraphy and reflect a strong pull towards his North African background as well as an effort to keep dying traditions alive.</div>
