In 2003, I painted this wall together with Kiam, Koner and Bert — close crew members (NEM - nothing Else matters) at the time. We were looking back on a very active period in our painting days. The piece was titled Wascht euch, which came from a spontaneous idea. We had started the background with lots of bubbles, and at some point, we thought it’d be funny to add a toppled-over washing machine — mostly because we didn’t know what else to do. So in the end, we just said, “Come on, everyone go wash yourselves,” and rolled with it.
