SATR who lives and works in Guangzhou has been involved in street art since 2013. Her original technique of using spray paint atomization to create unique contours and shapes, makes the animals in her paintings appear to be extremely dynamic with a smoky quality to their edges. She experiments with and widely researches the use of transparent graffiti spray paint, making her work stand out from the traditional Chinese painting style. In addition to using atomization and transparency, she also successfully uses ink and wash to create the perfect balance between the boldness of Western graffiti contrasted by the delicate brush strokes of Eastern-style paintings. There is a strong Oriental undertone in Satr’s work, and she acknowledges this significance with the use of ancient seal-engraved signatures.
