<pre>"The Beuys in a can" or reinterpretation of the "honey pump at work" , Seidenweberhaus, Krefeld by Oldhaus from Düsseldorf and Kerim Mušanović from Sarajewo as part of the "Silk City Gallery" and the Krefeld change of perspective under the artistic direction of Fredda Wouters from Kevelaer .
<br>Beuys has found his final resting place in a glass spray can (it looks as if he is sleeping) The can is filled with honey, here the reference to one of his most spectacular installations at the Documenta in Kassel from 1977. One led through several rooms in total 173 meter long system of transparent hoses and tubes, where a total of 150 kg of honey was repeatedly pumped through in a closed system.Beuys wanted to represent a blood circulation with the honey kettle as the heart. He wanted to show the principle of the "Free International University" to work in the bloodstream of society in order to work on central social issues of society! </pre><div><br></div><pre>This was one part, the other for 100 days to discuss God and the world with creative and revolutionary minds.The fact that the pump becomes a spray can means that on the one hand the graffiti sprayers hold up a mirror to society with all its mistakes, and on the other hand they manifest possible realities with their works.A bathtub floats on top of the honey, it stands for the superficial, that which normal, less art-loving people associate with the artist. And of course everyone thinks of the baby bath that Beuys had decorated with wire, plasters and gauze bandages.And no, it wasn't a cleaning lady who cleaned her, but members of the local SPD association who want to wash glasses.Of course, Beuys was anything but delighted about that!</pre><div><br></div><pre>Underneath we see something like a soap that goes under with the inscription "Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes, No No No No No No". This is a reference to his work of art with 20 felt plates, where a tape reel lies, where he and two artist colleagues repeat over and over again "Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes, No No No No No No" in monotonous singsong. </pre><div><br></div><pre>On the one hand, it shows the Rhinelander, who doesn't like to commit himself, and on the other hand, the type of communication that ultimately leads to nothing! (we all know!)The monotony really has something hypnotic about it, which frees the mind when one can listen for so long! It's best to try it out yourself!And last but not least, a famous quote from him in large letters under the picture “Art is in crisis. All areas are in crisis. "</pre>

<br>The whale is one of Kerim's absolute favorite motifs! 
<br>Usually the whale symbolizes the beginning, the creation of all life on earth that we know today. There are many cultures around the globe that associate the whale with topics such as creation, birth and rebirth. Some of the other meanings associated with the whale are: awareness, emotional rebirth, understanding, rearing, standing up for a community, appreciating beauty (especially with regard to music and dance), and the importance of emotional balance.  
<br>But here we are dealing with a dying whale, which stands for the end of the environment like the setting sun and thus for the end of humanity, the drifting half-timbered house, stands for the flood disaster in the Eifel combined with our emotions. It serves as a warning to all of us that if we make the right decisions now, it will not be too late.</pre><div><br></div>
