The artichoke flowers only if it is not harvested to be eaten.<br>The work is part of the Systema Naturae project, an experiment in grafting art, science and the environment born in Sicily and which has also developed in Puglia and in the center of Corato.<br>Through an ethic of doing, art is used to raise awareness and stimulate a new environmental awareness and recover a fertile relationship between man and the natural world.</div>

Abbandona un carciofo e fiorirà

<div><strong><em>ITALIANO</em></strong></div><div>Nella prima edizione di Verso Sud festival il laboratorio tenuto da Angela Malcangi e Franco Arminio si basava sul libro "Il topo sognatore e altri animali di paese", edito da Rrose Sélavy. I bambini crearono nuove storie di animali di paese, storie così belle che l'editore Massimo De Nardo, nella ristampa del libro, decise di pubblicarle in calce.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>A una di quelle storie si è ispirato Emanuele Poki per questa edizione, per le sue cicale e per il loro canto:&nbsp;<br>“Verso Sud è una cicala.&nbsp;<br>Che periodicamente si estenua nel canto,&nbsp;<br>che si uccide per donare a chiunque, con invadenza meritata,&nbsp;<br>concerti estivi che riempiono l’aria,&nbsp;<br>il corpo, la terra.&nbsp;<br>Verso Sud è estenuante, per i ragazzi che ci lavorano.&nbsp;<br>Verso Sud è un regalo, per la città invasa.&nbsp;<br>Verso sud muore per rinascere ogni volta, per ricantare ogni volta.”&nbsp;<br><br></div>
