Die Urbanisten e.V. is a non-profit, registered association based in Dortmund that has served as a creative catalyst for participatory urban development, public art, and neighborhood community building across the Ruhr region since its founding in 2010. The association bridges the gap between city planners, artists, architects, and local citizens to make public spaces active, green, and liveable. Under the artistic direction of David Kory, the association regularly transforms bleak urban infrastructure. A well-known project series includes the artistic remodeling of concrete bridges and underpasses in the Ruhr area into expansive color and typographic murals.
