Description

Located on the former Hero factory site in Breda, "Hero" by Zenk One reflects the transformation of this historic location into a vibrant new neighbourhood. The mural brings together past and present, celebrating the area's industrial heritage while looking ahead to its future.

Throughout the composition, scenes of people gathering, music, nature and everyday life symbolize connection and community. Subtle references to Breda's iconic strawberries pay tribute to the former Hero factory, which played an important role in the city's history. By weaving these elements together, the artwork creates a welcoming story about identity, belonging and new beginnings.

Zenk One, the artistic name of Breda-based artist Robin Nas, started his creative journey as a graffiti writer at the age of sixteen. Over the years, he has developed a distinctive visual style characterized by bold shapes, clean lines and harmonious colour palettes. His murals often combine graphic illustration with organic elements, resulting in large-scale artworks that feel both contemporary and timeless.

Commissioned by Blind Walls Gallery, "Hero" was integrated into the neighbourhood from the very beginning, making the mural an essential part of the area's identity rather than simply an artwork on a wall.

Hi, I’m Esther. I have always been drawn to the vibrant and dynamic world of urban creativity. My true love lies in hunting for remarkable street art pieces and sharing them with the world and fellow enthusiasts. What fascinates me the most about street art is its large dimensions. I like big walls, and I cannot lie ;) The magic of street art lies in its ability to surprise and inspire people in their everyday surroundings, it transforms public spaces into accessible galleries for everyone!
