Tijdens een bijeenkomst met lokale bewoners leerde Han Coussement meer over het nabijgelegen natuurreservaat Bergelen.
Als fervent vogelaar koos Coussement ervoor om een fazant te schilderen. Met zijn lange staart vult de vogel perfect het smalle horizontale gedeelte van de muur. De fazant verstopt zich tussen het hoge gras, wat het huiselijke karakter van de locatie symboliseert. Op de achtergrond is er een knipoog naar de historische molen die hier ooit stond.

During a meeting with local residents, Han Coussement learned more about the nearby Bergelen nature reserve.
As an avid birdwatcher, Coussement chose to paint a pheasant. With its long tail, the bird perfectly fills the narrow horizontal section of the wall. The pheasant hides among the tall grass, symbolising the homely character of the location. In the background, there is a nod to the historic mill that once stood here.
