This mural of José Mercé is a personal tribute to one of the greatest voices in flamenco, created in the Polígono San Benito neighborhood, in Jerez de la Frontera. I approached the piece through emotional realism, aiming not only to portray his image but to convey the strength, authenticity, and cultural legacy he represents.
The work is part of the commemoration of the 600th anniversary of the Roma people in Spain and was conceived with a strong social and community-driven intention, closely connected to the surrounding area and the people who live with the mural every day. For me, this piece speaks about identity, memory, and respect for flamenco culture and its roots.
