This piece is an homage to two of my favorite signs of the approaching summer -three swifts, who winter in Africa and return to Europe for the summer months, and the poppy flower, which burst forth in a brilliance of red signaling the coming of warmer weather. The piece speaks to the significance that can be read into the world around us through recognition of the species we live with and understanding their patterns and behaviors.
