The “City Nature” mural by Alicja Jakimów adorns the back wall of the building at 18 Wzgórze Street, visible from Bohaterów Warszawy Street. The mural features an abstract figure surrounded by animals and plants, symbolizing the close relationship between humans and nature — a connection that’s especially strong in Bielsko-Biała, a city nestled among mountains and forests.

The artwork not only highlights the city’s natural surroundings but also nods to its cultural heritage. The figure in the mural holds a pot with a tree in one hand, representing care for nature, and an old movie projector in the other, paying tribute to the local cinema and theater history, with the nearby Polski Theater and the former Rialto and Apollo cinemas.

Alicja Jakimów, a native of Bielsko-Biała and a graduate of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Silesia, specializes in graphics, illustration, and photography. Her work often explores themes of nature and environmental protection.

The mural was made possible by a grant from the City of Bielsko-Biała in the field of Culture and Art, with support from partners including the Polish Theater in Bielsko-Biała, the Bielska Gallery Foundation, and sponsors: Korczyk Škoda and KIA, Studio Paula, Dental Care, and Castorama Polska.
