Description

Artist Jos Peeters creates murals and restores historic wall advertisements. As the original historic wall advertisement for the insurance company Arnhemsche Verzekerings Maatschappij (A.V.M.) – which was based on an antique Dutch advertising poster for the insurance company dating from around 1910 – had faded considerably over the years, he meticulously restored the image of the horse-drawn fire engine in 2000. The mural at Lichte Gaard 3 in Utrecht was fully restored by Peeters in the summer of 2024; at the same time, he repainted the literary quotation by the Utrecht writer C.C.S. Crone beneath it in a clean, hand-painted typeface.
