Description

On a side wall of the Kamo War Memorial Hall artist Rodrigo Rozas has created a tribute to war hero Nancy Wake. Nicknamed 'The White Mouse' by the Gestapo, Wellington born Nancy Wake was a secret agent with the French Resistance during World War Two. Despite becoming the Gestapo's most wanted person by 1943 Nancy managed to evade capture and was a constant thorn in their side until the end of the war. Her autobiography 'The White Mouse' became a best seller when it was published in 1985.
