I was selected by Farolatino and Spotify to create this tribute to Eugenia Quevedo: a key figure in contemporary Argentine cuarteto music from Córdoba and a symbol of renewal within a genre historically dominated by men, even though it was created by a woman, Leonor, and sustained by many other female forces.
The explosion of vibrant colors represents the feminine power that emanates from Eugenia. Her pose in action, singing, activates the scene and makes visible that vital pulse that defines her.
The colors are organized in rhythmic planes, traversed by gestural brushstrokes that reinforce the dialogue between the composition, which is born of spontaneity and expands its energy from the center, like a sun embracing diversity.
In that radiance appears the transformative force of youth and the female voice within Córdoba's culture.
This mural is a welcome to Córdoba.
A tribute.
