The redesign of the Viehofer Platz subway station in 2009 was led by artist Danijel Brekalo, also known as GIGO Propaganda. At the time, he served as artistic director for a major creative project commissioned by Essener Verkehrs-AG (EVAG). In collaboration with the educational and cultural center “Storp9,” he coordinated the work of students from nearby schools. The young people were encouraged to contribute their own ideas and visions to transform the subway entrance into a colorful work of art.
