Mural produced after conducting two rounds of community meetings hosted at the VMGH center. The themes of youth and hospitality arose from the discussions in addition to the rejection of focusing on individual heroic acts as a visual device. Instead a sense of collectivity is created with silhouettes of people creating playful and quotidian gestures. The word WELKOM spans both walls with three letters on each facade.
Note: unfortunately the second wall is destroyed by a fire. So the “kom” part is gone, but the “wel” is still standing strong.
