A 170-metre-long wall is gradually becoming one continuous artistic narrative, hand-painted by a single artist. MEANDER (CHLORAKAS, PAPHOS) created by Cyprus-based Anatolis Spyrlidis, known as RoyalVenom, extends across approximately 340 square metres of panel surface. It runs along the perimeter of a residential development, yet the artwork is conceived as one uninterrupted composition rather than a series of independent murals.
Its scale raises a question extending beyond Cyprus: could MEANDER be the world’s longest continuous hand-painted calligraphy or calligraffiti wall executed by a single artist? That specific distinction has not been independently verified and is presented as a possibility, not an established record.
The artwork MEANDER utilizes the ancient Greek meander as a geometric framework to symbolize the non-linear journey of human life and the pursuit of belonging and peace. By transforming this classic motif from a simple decorative border into a disciplined grid of movement, the piece mirrors life's detours and eventual arrivals. This structured geometry is balanced by expressive, Gothic-inspired calligraffiti featuring the word "MEANDER" written in Greek, Russian, English, and German, blending precise architectural form with raw human gesture.
