Description

Karski (1974) & Beyond (1983) are known as an artist duo from the Netherlands. They have a background in graphic design and the academy of fine arts and were heavily involved in graffiti. Karski picked up the spray can when he was only 10 years old. Beyond, being from another generation, started painting in 1997.

This work was made for a housing association. Karski and Beyond spoke with the neighbourhood what kind of picture they wanted. They want something colourful and so the 4 murals on the Laakweg are very colourful. This one represents the youth. It exudes cheerfulness and freedom. Have fun and have a carefree childhood.

During the first lock down in 2020 street art crossed my path. I was amazed by the quality and the effect on the environment. Since then, street art has stuck with me. I regularly give guided tours along street art in the center of The Hague and over the Binckhorst.
