Spanish painter Sebas Velasco and his first mural in the metropolis. The mural, A Lasting Place, draws its title inspiration from British musician Loyle Carner, a song from his third album, Hugo. Located at 12 Cobbett Street, Brixton, depicts a young man, a local resident, before Brixton's train line at night.
“I have always been very interested in social architecture but I had no idea that London (particularly Brixton) was so rich in these aesthetics," Velasco says. The wall, like the neighbourhood and the sitter had so much character and I was grateful for the creative freedom and support from the team in allowing me the space to properly explore this. From photographic staging with my long time collaborator Jose Delu, to painting the final piece, i’m so pleased with this, my first London mural.”
