The Nolly Brig

Description

Artwork located under The Nolly Brig, in Firhill, Glasgow.

The bridge was built in 1990, to carry Firhill Road traffic over the Forth and Clyde Canal..

In 2019 two murals, inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, were unveiled along the canal towpath at Firhill.

They were created by Art Pistol projects, and were interpretations of Mackintosh’s well known “Roses” , and his less well known “Sailing Ship”

The Roses sits on the footpath side of the bridge, and has been sadly defaced. The Sailing Ship, sits on the other side, and remains in good condition.
