Winged Creature

Description

The British street artist ThisOne created this mural of the bird (officially titled ‘Winged Creature’) on the corner of Wentworth Street and Goulston Street in December 2022. It formed part of a series of monochrome nature drawings that he left throughout London that winter.

ThisOne was born and raised in the Yorkshire countryside in the north of England. In 2013, he moved to London. In his early years, he mainly focused on traditional graffiti lettering. Around 2015, he changed direction completely: he stopped doing lettering and began to focus purely on monochrome (black-and-white) illustrations of animals and flowers.

Although he is based in the streets of East London (mainly around Shoreditch and Brick Lane), he travels extensively for major festivals. His distinctive black-and-white creatures can be found on walls in Paris, Amsterdam, Bangkok, Sarajevo and Indonesia, amongst other places.
