An industrial ventilation shaft has been transformed into a monumental sculpture referencing gravity, technology, movement, and urban infrastructure.
Located above the Blanka Tunnel and next to a football stadium, the installation symbolically connects the city’s hidden underground infrastructure with the dynamics of movement and sport taking place on the surface.
The outer shell of the cylinder is covered with a richly detailed ornament generated algorithmically and executed using a robotic arm. The relief forms a complex system of lines and shapes inspired by mathematical models and curves associated with the effects of gravity. Blue streaks flowing down the light concrete surface emphasize the action of gravity and the direction of natural attraction.
