Hachitos, tradition and joy

Description

Hachitos, tradition and joy

Urban art to value the traditions of a people, so that they can be passed on to the next generations and not remain a distant memory.

Our traditions and our holidays are what hold us together, what make us who we are and are part of our identity.

The mural, made on the main facade of the Cultural Center of Las Canales, in Icod de los Vinos, depicts different scenes from the feast of Los Hachitos, held during the night of San Juan.

For this work I have used a language of contemporary figurative and graphic muralism, with influences from graffiti, illustration and geometric abstraction, also using color as a narrative element to achieve a strong visual impact. The composition does not leave aside the architecture of the building, but integrates it and makes it part of the work itself.
