The artist Sebastian Dannenberg has developed an abstract mural that interprets the space between Steintor and Helenenstraße in many different ways. Using large black letters on a white background, he has created an impressive work of art on both walls of the building that form the entrance to Helenenstraße. ‘BETWEEN IN’ can be read on the right-hand wall as seen from the Steintor, while “BETWEEN” is repeated in mirror image on the left-hand wall, so that the lettering creates an association with newspaper headlines or billboards. In addition, he reworked an existing spatial element (part of the urinal) with signal red colour, thus creating another strong visual anchor.
