This mural was created as part of the "Conta-me Histórias" project, having been inaugurated on April 5, 2024 by Mr. Mayor Gonçalo Lopes, within the scope of the Celebrations of the 50th anniversary of April 25th, and promoted by the Municipality of Leiria with the support of the National Commission responsible for the Celebrations of the 50th anniversary of April 25th, 1974.

The project "Conta-me Histórias" (Tell me stories), developed by the Artistic Center A Casa ao Lado, intended, through artistic practice, to create an intergenerational relationship, between the young generation of before April 25, 1974 and the young generation of today.

All the participants from both generations took an active part in the whole process of working up to the mural painting, through conversations, the exchange of experiences and stories. The aim of the project was to interpret the different points of view and "transport" them into graphic mural images.

The mural painting presented here is a testimony to what has been said, where the silence that was imposed and the breaking of it, through freedom, aims to remind younger generations of the importance of freedom.
