SPRAY YARPS est un pochoiriste parisien de la première heure. Palindrome de SPRAY, son patronyme est connu depuis des années sur la scène artistique de la capitale. Ses débuts datent de 1985 quand il tombe sur de superbes graffitis dans les locaux d’une radio parisienne célèbre. « C’était magnifique, mais le pochoir, c’est différent et ça m'a tout de suite interpellé. Il y a le côté « vite fait bien fait » qui est complètement adéquat pour intervenir dans la rue rapidement ».

SPRAY YARPS a toujours eu de l’admiration pour les graffeurs des années 80 qui recouvraient Paris de leurs créations. Ses sujets favoris sont des figures du cinéma dans des films d’anthologie (Clint Eastwood en « Inspecteur Harry », Gérard Jugnot dans « Le Père Noël est une ordure », Marylin Monroe dans « Sept ans de réflexion »). Les personnages tiennent en joue le spectateur avec de gros calibres…tandis que les pin-ups montrent leur pétard.

"It was magnificent, but the stencil is different and it immediately caught my attention. There is the "quickly done well" side which is completely adequate to intervene in the street quickly.

SPRAY YARPS has always had admiration for the graffiti artists of the 80s who covered Paris with their creations. His favorite subjects are cinema figures in anthology films (Clint Eastwood in "Inspector Harry", Gérard Jugnot in "Santa Claus is a bastard", Marylin Monroe in "Seven Years of Reflection"). The characters hold the spectator at each other’s throats with big guns... while the pin-ups show their firecrackers.
